Jorvik Year 5 29.11.2022
Throughout the day, we participated in two incredible activities which furthered our knowledge on the topic. First, we made our way to the 'DIG' experience where the children were met by a Viking warrior, who told us all about the different weapons the Vikings may have used in battle and why, as well as how wealthy those people must have been in order to obtain them. This practical activity saw children reenacting battles of years gone by, imitating Viking battle formations and even holding weapons themselves! Only the most fearsome and brave warriors were granted passage to Valhalla after their death. We then headed to the Jorvik Centre itself, where we delved into a Viking village itself and became immersed in the 4D experience. The children experienced how the Vikings worked, lived, ate, drank and even their liking for magic!
